Horrible weather Sunday morning dull and raining but loads of birds around at the Vale Pond.

Not the best photos.  Went the other side of the Bordeaux Herbour to get closer and it swam over to the opposite side!

Pleinmont Desert Wheatear

The desert wheatear was on the patch inside the scramble track. 

I parked on a track and when driving back a shorteared owl landed on the hedge and then went onto the path in front of the car!

Lovely day today so went for a walk at Pleinmont hoping to see the short eared owls. 

The motor bike scramblers were there so no chance of seeing the Desert Wheatear seen yesterday near the scramble track so went to the north in the fields / trees.  Saw one owl but did not take any photos even though quite close; mesmorised :-). 

Fields were full of fungi.  Driving back popped into drive down to 'Haunted House' on cliff by Pleinmont and saw the two shorteared owls hunting next to the house. 

One flew towards me allowing these photos.

I presume that the other bird is a chaffinch; one of a flock at Pleinmont.

'It' made two appearances for me this afternoon along with a number of other birds. 
I had not seen a Little Grebe before. 

I say "It" as everyone who comes into the hide says "have you seen It?"
